Sound Engine is a Finnish event production company specializing in creative events and high-quality technology. Their previous website, dated and no longer aligned with their brand, needed a fresh look to better reflect their dynamic services.
This agile project was led by a small core team—Jussi, a creative copywriter and content producer, and myself, responsible for designing, building, and updating the website and branding materials.
We began with their old website from the early 2000s and, with no existing brand book, I audited their previous identity to guide the refresh. Based on my findings, I modernized their brand with updated typography and color hues, then sketched the layout for the new site.
One of the rare cases where content was already planned before design, the process moved smoothly. I could dive straight into wireframing and layout creation, as most materials were available.
The design process was straightforward, utilizing three key programs:
- Wireframes and layouts in Illustrator
- Frontend development in Brackets
- Photo editing in Photoshop
The website, built on WordPress with a custom theme I developed, features a modular structure that allows for easy updates and maintenance in the future.
